Meet the Ambassador

Tech Ambassador, Anne Marie Engtoft Larsen

On October 1st 2020 Anne Marie Engtoft Larsen took office as Denmark’s new Tech Ambassador.

The Tech Ambassador represents the government
of Denmark with a global mandate and a physical presence in both Silicon Valley, Copenhagen and Beijing – transcending borders and regions and thus rethinking the traditional understanding of a diplomatic representation.

As the Tech Ambassador, she spearheads the
Danish TechPlomacy-initiative – elevating technology and digitalization to a crosscutting foreign and security policy priority of the Danish government.

Prior to her appointment, Anne Marie Engtoft Larsen worked at World Economic Forum in Genève (2017-2020) where she led the World Economic Forum's work on Fourth Industrial Revolution and Global Public Goods. The aim was to mobilize technology companies, governments, international organizations, investors and civil society to collaboratively tackle the barriers that prevent emerging technology from scaling responsibly to help solve society’s biggest challenges.

Anne Marie Engtoft Larsen holds a Master’s Degree in Development Management, from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Master’s Degree in International Business & Politics from Copenhagen Business School.
