Successfully hosted high-level visit for NATO and allies in Silicon Valley with the purpose of establishing closer industrial collaboration that will contribute to maintaining the Alliance’s technological lead.

With private tech companies playing increasingly vital roles in Euro-Atlantic security, the need for strategic dialogue between the industry and the Alliance on foreign and security political issues has become increasingly critical. In line with Denmark’s established Tech Diplomacy efforts in the Bay Area, we actively engage in strategic dialogues with the tech industry on these issues and establish trusted partnerships to collaboratively tackle key challenges.

Key Achievements & Results 

  • High-level Visit: In March 2024, coordinated a pivotal visit for NATO’s Assistant Secretary General David van Weel in Silicon Valley, aimed at strengthening industrial collaboration and ensuring the Alliance’s technological superiority. 

  • Strategic Dialogue: Facilitated exchanges between NATO and key stakeholders, including venture partners, business and tech executives, and leading academic experts. Discussions have focused on counteraction technology’s malicious use, leveraging advancements for peace and security, and supporting innovation to maintain NATO’s edge.
